Hair & Makeup Artist (Part-time) to grow into a full time position
Location: Hunt Valley, MD
Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday with some weekends
Hours: Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week to start
Start Date: May 2026 (after interview and training)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and confident Hair and Makeup Artist to join our studio team in Hunt Valley, Maryland. You will provide hair and makeup services for portrait sessions. This role is part-time and primarily scheduled in the mornings, with some afternoon photo sessions. Looking to grow into a full-time position.
In addition to hair and makeup services, this position includes helping with light studio tasks to support the team and ensure a smooth, elevated client experience.

Additional Role Details
Schedule Expectations
Most portrait sessions are scheduled Monday – Friday and some weekends
Most shifts fall between 9:00am to 12:00pm or 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Schedules are typically provided a few weeks in advance, occasional bookings may come with only a few days notice
Pay: Hourly rate starting at $40/hour (dependent on skill & expertise)
Studio to provide the hair & makeup kit with direction from the Artist.
Responsibilities
Hair & Makeup Services
Provide professional hair styling and makeup application for clients with a wide range of expertise including: mature skin makeup, textured hair styling, styling with extensions, work with all skin tones and ethnicities.
Complete hair & makeup efficiently within one hour
Create a variety of looks ranging from natural to glam, based on client preferences and the session type
Studio Support
Assist with miscellaneous studio tasks beyond hair and makeup as needed (example: making calls to leads to book discovery calls, social media, tidying prep areas, light resetting between clients, organizing supplies)
Maintain a clean, professional, well-stocked hair & makeup station
Follow studio procedures & workflow after training
