A Baltimore Birth Photographer gets a glimpse into a labor of love.

A beautiful birth story from Baltimore to Annapolis and back again.  As all best laid plans, this one was no different, but in the end this handsome little man came roaring into the world and has felt nothing but love from all his family and friends.

This incredible mama labored so heroically and with so much strength and grace, we were all in awe.  Her husband was such a supportive coach and endured right along with her the whole time, their love for each other and their family was a beautiful sight to see.

This family was so blessed with an incredible Doula, Carly.  She was so supportive, loving and tender throughout the whole evening, morning and afternoon… all the way through the birth!

Throughout the whole birth journey, there were many ups, downs and in betweens but they never lost focus on the love that created and was bringing in their little boy into the world.

As a birth photographer, it is my job to stay out of the way and capture the story as it unfolds.  So that means hanging out and waiting with the family, I was fortunate she let me play with her toys while we waited the arrival of her little brother.

Although their birth plan had to change a little, that is OK!  We moved to the hospital across the street and waited for the rest of the story unfold. As you can see, this strong mama was surrounded by the love and support of her doula, midwife and of course her loving husband.

Caution… these photos will make you want to have a baby!  I was so energized (even after staying up all night – like any birth photographer will do) to watch her labor and finally meet her long awaited little boy.

FINALLY!!! HE ARRIVES!!  A sweet little boy was born into the world – 10 fingers and 10 toes and couldn’t be any more perfect!  These touching family photos are a true gift.  I wish that I had similar images from the birth of my two boys, but I’m so grateful that I am able to capture their beautiful birth story – I love being a birth photographer!

Both mommy and daddy were loving his skin-to-skin time with his new son – a perfect way to bond with their new baby!

I love these images showing the strong bonds between mom and daughter and husband and wife – beautiful!

As a mom, there is nothing more beautiful than being able to nurse your child.  It is a special bond that is like none other!

This is one proud big sister.  She was not phased at all by the birth, she just was so excited to meet her new little brother and enjoy some cuddle time.

 

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I’m in awe of your strength and courage during the birth of your son – you are an wonderful family and it was my honor to watch him take his first breath in this world.
